Medaka box manga10/28/2022 ![]() ![]() Box is simply a satire of shonen mangas tropes. Third Arc: The author comes at this point and laughs at you for having liked the first two arcs. ![]() Second Arc: Generic yeah, but it's fun (This is where the anime ends, as far as I was told, btw) #Medaka box manga series#I've come to realize that people who watched the anime series will have an hard time to grasp what the series is trying to accomplish, as it only shows it's true colors by the third arc (I'm counting Uzen has first arc, since everything before it was just establishing characters).įirst Arc: Okay, things are picking up, this may become interesting. Now the Student Council members spend their days solving the problems submitted through the Medaka Box, whether they be hooligans in clubs where they don't belong, girls who need help writing love letters or people who've lost their pets, gradually earning the respect and admiration of the entire school. Soon Medaka recruits two more people to the Student Council, the former judo club member Akune Kouki as secretary and the current swim club member Kikaijima Mogana, on loan for 300 yen a day, as treasurer. She asks her childhood friend, Hitoyoshi Zenkichi, for help and he grudgingly agrees, becoming the Student Council's lowest ranking member. Since Medaka won the Student Council elections with a staggering 98% of the vote, she ends up as the Council's only member. Needless to say, the result is disappointing.EditSynopsis Kurokami Medaka, a first year, is elected as Student Council President, and the first thing she does is establish a suggestion box, later dubbed by students the "Medaka Box." Medaka encourages students to submit any problem to the box without hesitation and promises to take on any issue from anyone. It is still better to read the manga than to watch these 2 seasons, as they have been the weakest arcs in the manga. Musically, the season was mostly average, both intros and osts.Īnimations are also average, there is no talk of good choreography here. And the interesting idiosyncrasies of the protagonists or the structure of the school was no longer relevant, since this entire season was devoted only to the fights. On average, one episode was needed per enemy, possibly a bit longer. The new characters are almost mostly just weirdos with little charisma and only one fixed personality that they keep until the end. Which is all the more in focus in the course of the later arcs. The plot of this season, as mentioned, involves the protagonists fighting against the "Thirteenth Party" to stop the Flask Plan (plan to create the perfect human). By "best" I don't mean it's mind-blowing. ![]() It an interesting idea to give the new antagonist more charm right away, but the third season never got to the light and so did the best manga arc. Unfortunately, the anime ends with episode 12 (episode 13 is an additional episode based on the manga "Good Loser Kumagawa"). Characters are spontaneously stronger than before, without any buildup. However, he did not put any emphasis on explanations and structure. This problem also existed with the manga, though the author created many abilities and personalities. With Medaka, it's less surprising than with the others. And since "plot armor" is practically the protagonist's power, of course, they win. The entire flow of this season consists of introducing the new enemies and fighting them all the time between episodes 3-12. There is almost no trace of "humor and satire" here anyway. However, this season consists of non-stop fights, with disastrously boring cliché opponents. Yes, the series still has a far below average entertainment value as a shounen. Everything that Medaka Box had in season 1 has been completely thrown overboard here. ![]()
